The walls were covered with elaborate paintings depicting the deeds of Mari’s kings as well as depictions of daily life in the city.
Mari flourished circa 2900 B.C. - 1761 B.C., in the present-day Iraq/Syria border area. -- The entire Middle East was the Black Lands.
